Position Summary
Seeking a writer to generate variety of content including online user guides, instructional documents (UI), screen content (UI), demos, tutorials, and help. Writer should have 2+ years of experience writing and editing content for a variety of online transactional, Software as a Service - based applications. The ideal candidate should have experience writing and collaborating on content with diverse groups in a fast-paced environment and is extremely comfortable working online.
Not desired:Technical writers who have written only white papers or docs to print (PDFs) technical documents.
NOTE:Providing writing samples with the resume is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Write and edit accurate, concise, and highly readable page content for new and existing web applications that is not overly technical or obscure.

Generate writing that include but are not limited to Help, FAQs, user guides, instructional documents, interactive tutorials, demos, and other website content.

Evaluate the scope of a writing project and be responsible for managing own priorities, schedule and deadlines.

Enforce and follow established style guides to ensure high editorial standards.

Diplomatically address and resolve differences between stakeholders from cross-functional teams.

Quick and accurate and should be able to multi-task.
HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS:

Expert in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and Wiki technologies

Experience with Captivate, Adobe Framemaker or similar software

Strong advocate for the end users web experience

Software technology documentation writing experience

Experience with developing Web Based Training (WBT) and Computer Based Training (CBT) lesson plans/training

Excellent writing, editing, analytical, and proof reading skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work in a team and collaborate with all levels in the organization

Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and translate them into clear non-technical content

Extremely organized and detail-oriented

A self-starter who can work independently

Knowledge of web production and project management

Can juggle multiple projects and prioritize effectively

Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Familiarity with AP Style Guide, Chicago Manual of Style or Microsoft Manual of Style

Knowledge of additional language like German or Spanish is a plus.
Job Requirements
