Overview:

– Requires a B.Sc / MSc degree in a relevant a scientific discipline, an MBA preferred;

– Minimum of 5 to 8 years experience in core sales / business development required

– People management experience required

– Strong communication skills to effectively connect with the scientific audience

– Demonstrated ability to set strategic direction and lead teams in a dynamic pharmaceutical services environment

Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Head, BD to execute the business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Responsible for the performance and development of associates.
  • Prepares action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
  • Executes action plans to penetrate new markets. Generating the leads & qualifying the accounts based on the Sales strategies. Understanding the requirements of the clients & positioning an appropriate solution co-ordinating with technical operations.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
  • Conducts one-on-one review with all Business Development Associates to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of Associate’s sales and activity performance.
  • Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance.
  • Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
  • Maintains accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports.
  • Creates and conducts proposal presentations, RFP responses & Bid defense.
  • Assists team in preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Recruits, tests, and hires associates based on criteria agreed upon by senior management.
  • Should have a pleasant personality with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in preparing and delivering presentations, reports and working with spreadsheets.
  • Meet with business targets set for the accounting year on a monthly basis and ensure a steady and healthy order pipeline.

Qualifications:

– PhD or additional graduate degree preferred
