ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead in the organization and planning of civic engagement center launch
  • Lead outreach to international and national NGOs and agencies to help identify funding and partnerships for and opportunities for collaboration with CSOs and Civil Society Resource Center Community Advisory Boards
  • Work with LINCS program teams to update CSO partner profiles for use by USAID and Mercy Corps
  • Assist in creating online global outreach tools to highlight successes and capabilities of CSO partners to potential donors and other partners
  • Assist and train CSO partners and Civil Society Resource Center Community Advisory Boards in creating their own visibility and fundraising materials
  • Maintain a contact list of CSO partners for dissemination to potential donors and other interested parties
  • Update/ adjust LINCS Program communication pieces as requested by the LINCS Chief of Party, including success stories, fact sheets, program overviews, memos, maps, presentations, and other marketing and fundraising materials
  • Review and edit all external program reports and documents to ensure quality, clarity, and compliance with donor and organizational branding and marking requirements
  • Work with LINCS M&E Specialist to produce quarterly and annual reports for USAID and develop other USAID deliverables as requested
  • Maintain a database of local and international media contacts

Accountability to Beneficiaries:

Mercy Corps team members are expected to support all efforts towards accountability, specifically to our beneficiaries and to international standards guiding international relief and development work, while actively engaging beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of our field projects.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: LINCS Chief of Party

WORKS DIRECTLY WITH: LINCS Chief of Party, LINCS M&E Specialist, LINCS Capacity Building Advisor,  LINCS Program Managers, Deputy Program Managers, Project Officers, and technical support staff.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA in international affairs, political science, journalism, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience and/or understanding of civil society, governance and community engagement issues
  • Work experience in developing country or conflict zone
  • Demonstrated ability to produce USAID deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to write and edit articles and reports under deadline pressure
  • Strong English writing skills are essential.
  • Strong inter-personal, cultural and diplomatic skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of team in an emergency, cross-cultural and politically sensitive setting
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and synthesize data collected from field teams
  • Willingness to learn and to progress professionally
  • Excellent IT skills and command of Microsoft Office (mainly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Practical knowledge of web and print design software and abilities in graphic design
  • Knowledge and demonstrable abilities with digital photography and imaging software
  • Arabic language skills are a plus
