Researcher / Senior Researcher for Data Mining / Analysis / Processing

Description

The researcher is responsible for conducting independent research on design and implementation of statistical/mathematical algorithms and data management tool for advanced data mining and knowledge generation. The person will work closely with various process domain experts to understand and capture the domain expertise, troubleshooting algorithm, and application know-how in mathematical model and predictive tool for advanced process control applications.

Responsibilities for this position also include the development of new software applications to analyze data correlations and develop models within large quantities of process data using techniques such as neural networks, pattern recognition, data mining, model development, and/or process optimization as a method of algorithm and data processing development.  Experience with historians and large database software is highly desirable.  The intention is to develop advanced control algorithms and/or data processing methods.  Responsibilities also include the presentation of data in a clear and concise manner.  With time, this individual will be expected to provide company management with proactive guidance on future research directions.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:        

  • Candidate with Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Chemical, or Systems). Strong mathematical background and working experience in complex data processing are desired. 
  • Doctoral or Post Doctoral academic stint in a US or Canadian University or US or Canada based work experience is not necessary but prefered.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
