Under the direction of the Clinical Director of the Family Life Center and the Medical Director of OB Outpatient Services, the Nurse Practitioner in Labor & Delivery supports the assessment, admission, and disposition of OB patients in the Observation Unit. The OB Nurse Practitioner also assists in patient throughput in collaboration with the admit nurse/case manager by communicating with physicians, assisting with patient re-assessment and discharge orders as needed. This position provides compassionate care/service to a pregnant patient population (adolescent & adult) & her newborn in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individuals served.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited RN school of Nursing, Master’s Degree; At least five years of High Risk Labor & Delivery experience preferred ; Excellent verbal/written communication skills; Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred; Basic computer skills.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
Current RN CA Nurse Practitioner License
Current BCLS-C Card (AHA) & NRP Card (AHA)
Current ALS Card (AHA)
Current Advanced FM course validation (within 3 months of hire)
