Responsibilities:-
-Work with Support Teams to understand the project specifics and propose hardware configuration to suit the project requirements.
-User administration, disk administration, SAN/NAS/DAS administration etc
-Automation of repetitive tasks.
-Continuously monitor the System for Log messages, Alerts and act accordingly.
-Understand the scripts that are running and be aware of their functionality. Should be able to write Shell scripts as per Business requirement.
-Check for Vulnerabilities on the Server and apply necessary tactics to Harden the OS.
-Debug a breakdown and come up with quick resolution.
-Implement security on Unix servers.
-Troubleshoot performance issues related to servers & storage.

Qualifications
Must Have:
1. BE / BTech / MCA
2. Sound understanding of Unix Operating System - Solaris 10 & RHEL. Well versed in System Administration tasks like installation, patching, user administration, disk administration etc.
3. Understanding & implementation of Solaris Volume Manager
4. Excellent understanding of Veritas Volume Manager & File System
5. Configuration/Maintenance of Solaris containers/zones
6. Working knowledge of application level network protocols like HTTP, NFS, Samba, FTP, SSH etc
7. Performance monitoring and tuning for Unix machines
8. Unix security
9. Knowledge of Apache/Tomcat installation & configuration on Linux
10. Good knowledge of at least 2 - C, Shell scripts or Perl Scripts.
11. 3 - 5 years of experience.
Desired
1. Storage configuration on Linux with LVM
2. Managed SAN environment previously (preferably EMC Clariion or Symmetrix)
a. With familiarity in zoning concepts, Multipathing etc.
b. Storage allocation/de-allocation, lun binding/expansion/migration, raid creation/expansion.
c. Understanding of iSCSI
3. Working knowledge of RSC, ALOM & DRAC
4. Oracle RAC setup preparation with OCFS2 file system
