Essential Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have:
• 4-8 years experience in application testing including functional testing (black box testing), load testing, performance testing, UI testing
• Ability to work closely with the Test Lead and Test Manager.
• Proficient in writing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Understanding of databases and database concepts such as SQL and relational database design
• Understanding of software development concepts including programming languages (Java, C++), Object oriented analysis and design, and application architecture
• Experience in testing WEB based applications and knowledge of HTML, XML, CSS, JSP, and Java.
• Experience in Product installation on server, and server side testing.
• Exposure/ Experience to automated testing tools such as Mercury WinRunner and Quick Test Pro.
• Should have specific knowledge of some the following areas:
o Change Management Discipline
o Defect Tracking
• Good inter-personal and verbal and written communication skills
• Good analytical and problem solving skills.
• A challenging and enquiring mind
• Attention to detail and tenacity
• Ability to work closely with the development team in investigating, understanding and resolving software problems
• Good understanding of common software failures and faults
• Knowledge of the domain area tested (highly desirable) - GIS
• Experience drawn from a variety of testing projects (desirable)
Qualifications/Requirements
Education B.E., B. Tech, M.C.A. or M.Tech. Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience.
Computer Skills • Knowledge of Rational Robot, Clear Case, Clear Quest, Quality Centre, Req Pro and Mercury Win Runner, QTP
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Unix, Oracle.
