Description

The Construction Manager will lead the major expansion construction projects in the manufacturing plants and he/she will have three major responsibilities of

1. Construction Strategies leader,

2. Construction Planning & Execution leader and 

3. Construction Technologies leader

As the construction strategies leader, he/she will work with company's Global/regional experts, understand best market practices and work with construction contractors to develop the best construction strategy for a given project. Construction safety, Quality, cost and schedule will be the key deliverables while developing the construction strategy. In this responsibility, he/she needs to practice excellent communication and collaboration skills with a varied set of people.

As construction planning and execution leader, the person is expected to be hands-on, on the field leading the day to day planning/execution details of the project to keep the project on track. In this responsibility he/she will work with construction contractors, consultants and company's team to ensure 100% safety and legal compliances while ensuring timely progress of the project. Here the person needs to demonstrate daily leadership to overcome obstacles and to resolve conflicts and take informed decisions on the field. Also he would need to demonstrate good project management skills.

As the construction technologies leader, the person is expected to be the expert in the latest construction methods and technologies and need to bring in ideas to reduce cost and to speed-up schedule. Here the person's technical mastery in Civil Engg/construction management will be put into good use.

To qualify for this job, the person should have the following qualifications

  • The person needs to be a Civil Engineering graduate from a leading college with 2-3 years of industry experience with a top construction company. He/she should have a good knowledge of latest construction practices and project management. Also the person should be a quick learner to adapt to the company's way of working and to bring in best practices from the Global/regional experts and latest technologies in the market.
  • The person should have strong leadership skills, and ability to work with varied set of people. Good communication skills and ability to work in a systematic way are also essential.
  • The person should be ready to work hands-on, on the field, leading people and resolving issues. Visible strong leadership is an absolute key in this role.
