Team Overview:
Alladdin Portfolio Services provides technology solutions to support investment accounting, performance measurement, cash reconciliation, AUM calculation & Client Reporting. The team is responsible for a suite of applications including Performance Calculation Engines, Client Reporting Systems, Reconciliation and data publication tools.
Role Responsibilities
Ideal candidates will have experience in delivering software solutions to time, budget and quality. He or she should have a willingness to understand the business and existing systems and have good written and verbal communication skills. Candidates will be able to work effectively in a global team environment and be responsible for:
• Developing and maintaining Client Report templates primarily using the BIRT report design tool
• Working alongside project managers, technical leads and analysts throughout the whole report development lifecycle
- understanding systems requirements, design, development, testing, deployment & documentation.
• Understanding and supporting existing reporting systems, and assisting with production support & operational issues.
Technical Requirements:
• Extensive hands-on BIRT Report Designer experience (including Java scripting)
• Experience working with the Open Source BIRT reporting service
• Experience working with Microsoft Office and VB Scripting
• Web knowledge (HTML, JavaScript, HTTP)
• Perl development experience
• Solid database experience (SQL, DDL/DML, data modeling). Sybase experience preferred.
• Experienced with Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development
• Experience in Financial Markets particularly Investment Management desirable but not essential
• A willingness to work with global project teams spread across several time zones
• Strong teamwork, communication skills and time management abilities a must
• Experience with work-flow management tools (e.g., HEAT, Service Center)
Skills/Requirements:
• Undergraduate College level degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Strong command of Structured Query Language (SQL) and relational database concepts
• Strong analytical & report design skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good presentation skills
• Proficiency in financial accounting concepts, specifically for investment companies
• Knowledge of software development best practices (analysis, design, development, testing)
• 1+ year hands-on BIRT Report Designer experience (including Java scripting)
• 1+ year experience working with Microsoft Office and VB Scripting
• 1+ year database experience (SQL, DDL/DML, data modeling)
• Prior hands-on Perl development experience in a profession environment
• Prior experience in Financial Markets particularly Investment Management desirable but not essential
